數位設計創作(二)
Digital Design Studio(II)
Ojective
This course will outline a future state of digital fabrication through a studio-based critical exploration of processes of contemporary freeform architecture and emerging themes in digital design. This studio-based course applies theories and methods learned in Fundamentals of New Media, (IAR5095) to larger scale projects. Students are trained to use advanced techniques in computer modeling (MAYA, Rhino) and CAD/CAM fabrication (laser cutter, RP, 3D scanner, CNC) in building large-scale prototypes and digital mock-ups within a studio setting. The emphasis is on design learning through in depth studies along the five phases of professional design (architectural program, conceptual design, design development, detailed design and digital fabrication). Advanced learning is done through hands on tutorials, field trips and a work environment that combines research with design studio interaction. The final physical large-scale works as well as the research paper are the final requirement.
Course Structure
Module1: Case Study, Reading & Analysis
Module2: CAD/CAM Digital design and construction:(architectural program, conceptual design, design development, detailed design and digital fabrication)
Module3: Final proposal writing
Module1: 60% (weekly assignments and 2 group reviews)
Module2,3: 40% (the final project and proposal)
